Derek, congratulations on coming to your senses and proving you are a bigger man than your association with Taggart once suggested.
It takes bravery and principle to walk away from a familar company descended into shadows.
I wish you all the best in your new career, and as long as you don't have anything to do with piracy and gate-camping henceforth then you have nothing to fear from me.
I applaud your words about RONA Corp and ask you to read again the NVA declaration of principles. RONA is a signatory and full ally of the 28 corps so united by that document. It really is the intention of the NVA to secure Venal and Pureblind for peaceful commerce and a fertile environment for future business development.
If you respect RONA then you must respect their ideals and choice. RONA have chosen to stand with the NVA declaration of principles and the future of Venal. That alone should suggest to you the justice of our cause.

At least Derek manages to go with a little dignity intact.
And in case anybody really doesn't get the picture. Derek, Caladan, Yoshu, and many others have left Taggart since this war began because they feel the corporation today has changed from the corporation they joined, and it is no longer possible to practise peaceful business ethics under the Taggart name.
This is true.
And it is true because the Taggart CEO is still fighting a war in alliance with pirates and murdering scum to tyrannise and dominate a region of space.
Taggart's enemies here are, for the most part, peaceful industrial powers united in an idealistic declaration of principles pledging a non-piracy and free-access to 0.0 agenda as founding paradigm.
These people leaving Taggart are making political gestures whether intentionally or not. It is not possible to separate this reality from the wider war.
So, once again I congratulate Derek on leaving. and I encourage any other Taggart executives interested in a peaceful future to consider their positions.
Neither I nor the NVA have any interest in pursuing personal vendettas against ex-taggart personal, and indeed, having made the honourable choice to break with Ragnar, such people will be viewed once more as worthy members of the galactic community.

Vf142rex, I neither ôget itö nor care. Nobody has the right to determine exclusivity of response on threads. Not even your august master Ragnar. You have no right or ability to tell me what to do.
Mr Blond, I appreciate your opinion, but I reserve the right to congratulate departing Taggart executives on their choice and to follow-up with slap-downs of muppets who attempt to tell me what I can and canÆt do.

Yes m'dear, the intention is that in the future such passes will be available. At the moment you are free to travel to Venal and do what you want. We have passed the majority point in the ratification process, and as a independent visitor you will find no hostility from us. Be aware however that 6NJ and Y-4 are still off limits due to the conflict with M3G4.

You have made three posts in total on these forums; two of them have been attacks on my right to comment on an ongoing political situation, one a rather irrelevant snipe at forum ôwhiningö. You are posting under an alt or a character unwilling to name your corporate credentials. Your previous attack accused the NVA of saying (and I quote) "We-are-heroes-that-want-to-tax-you" by which I will assume that you are a Taggart-esq right-wing tooth and claw randite, and your use of somewhat spurious conversational latin as a sig would seem to bare out the hypothesis.
So, your status clarified, let me answer your charge.
ôThe Pointö is something alleged by certain personalities and is (I assume) that a character should not be held responsible for past corporate allegiances and may, as a last rhetorical stab, make statement without reply within the resignation thread.
DerekÆs resigns, but speaks of Taggart in respectful tone. I have no respect for Taggart since they maintain a corporate vendetta against my person and my business interests, and currently make war on the idealistic vision of the NVA.
ôPropagandaö is neither here nor there. My arguments are proven, the facts of the case on public record.
ôA measure of respect?ö I am content with the respect of allies and friendship of companions. I will not compromise my principles and ideals to court the ôrespectö of alts and taggart sleepers.
ôSpewing out statements?ö I think you let you bias show now mÆdear, and would appear to drop the pretence of ôrespectö you might in falsehood drape in token half-regard.
ôBroken records?" This will continue as long as Taggart maintain the bounty against myself, and the war against the NVA in Venal. There really is no alternative.
And as a last point let me make something quite clear;
Derek as a Taggart employee told appalling lies and served an appalling tyrant. He supported a foul solicitation to murder and courted the affection of murderers and tyrants. He was guilty by association and by deed. These matters are on record.
I do not owe the man a fresh start and clean name.
But I chose to give it to him because I have no interest in personal vendettas against ex-Taggartites.
Do not mistake this position for any form of absolution or admission to the effect that Derek (or any ex-Taggart employee) was not guilty of grievous judgemental error to remain associated with RagnarÆs organisation.
I want an end to this feud, and an end to TaggartÆs pain. But that organisation must admit its error in falsely accusing me of past wrongdoing. It must admit and renounce its policy in falsely making war and assassination upon its allies and past representatives; it must reform and eject those influences that led it into alliance with foul piratical murderers and lunatics.
If this alienates some forum readers and converts them into Randite pirates opposed to freedom and prosperity in Venal, then frankly, that is the price of principle, and one can never rule out the propensity for mean-spirited folly in a minority of the population.
I will not purse my lips in a hypocriteÆs silence and say nothing in the presence of evil.

Ezra, with the close of this thread many days ago I had resolved to say nothing about Derek whatsoever. But if you note current threads today you will see the man has dogged everything I have said about anything.
While I will admit that I should have said nothing on this departure thread, and I made a mistake to do so initially, the fact remains, the Derek continues to snipe at me, my interests, and my political positions.
When he quits it and moves on the temptation to respond will pass.
If being human and rising to baited inducement is something to lose your respect for then I put my hands in the air and admit it.
Derek has clearly damaged my reputation and and my principles and my standing amongst the allies I have honoured and not betrayed by word or deed or intentions yet to come.
So be it.
